Srinivas Kaza, MD, FACS
Srinivas Kaza, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon and is the Director of Robotic, Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Wellington Regional Medical Center. Dr. Kaza has been an attending surgeon in Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery since 2004.
Dr. Kaza is a member of the American College of Surgeons. He completed a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy and Bariatric Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, as well as his residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York.
He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada and his bachelor’s degree from Barry University in Miami.
Andrew O'Neill, MD, FACS
Andrew O’Neill, MD, FACS, graduated from the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. He then completed his surgical residency at Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, North Carolina. He then completed a one-year fellowship in Minimally Invasive General Surgery at Jackson South Medical Center in Miami. The fellowship involved specialty training in bariatric, laparoscopic, endoscopic and robotic procedures.
Following fellowship, Dr. O’Neill joined the group of Drs. Rodriguez, Hus and Simon with Eastern Atlantic Surgical Group where he continues to perform various minimally invasive general surgery procedures, including sleeve gastrectomy for weight loss, as well as colorectal, hernia, biliary and anti-reflux operations. He also provides emergency surgical services to local hospital emergency departments.
Outside the hospital, Dr. O’Neill enjoys spending time with family, including his wife, daughter and dog, Bovie. He also has a strong passion for exercise, nutrition and being outdoors.
Alberto Zarak, MD, FACS, FASMBS
Dr. Zarak is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in bariatric (weight-loss) and robotic surgery. He was born in Lima, Peru, where he completed medical school before coming to Miami where he specialized in general surgery. He earned the degree of General Surgeon from the University of Miami -Miller School of Medicine, and became board certified by the American Board of Surgery. During his time in Florida, he gained interest in weight-loss surgery and its impact on improving or resolving medical problems such as diabetes, hypertension and other metabolic conditions.
He made the decision to move to Atlanta, seeking further training in weight-loss surgery under the mentorship of one of the pioneers of this surgical field. After completing his training, he became a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
Dr. Zarak was then recruited by one of the first accredited centers for weight-loss surgery in the United States, located in Lexington, Kentucky. There he polished his techniques and consolidated his career, becoming the only weight-loss surgeon in Lexington to specialize in the robotic technique to perform these surgeries.
He then became the Chief of Bariatric Surgery at his institution, securing the “Centers of Excellence” re-accreditation by the ASMBS that recognizes great outcomes and patient care. With all this gained experience he moved back to South Florida to be closer to family. He has settled in the West Palm Beach area to offer our community the best treatments for weight-related medical conditions as well as any general surgery problems including reflux surgery and other abdominal surgeries.
Cindy Waymire, BSN, CBN, RN, Bariatric Program Coordinator
Cindy completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at South University. She is also a Certified Bariatric Nurse. Cindy has been with Wellington Regional Medical Center since 2017. She is an associate member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Outside the hospital, Cindy enjoys paddle boarding and traveling with her family.
