Bariatric surgery options
Skilled providers perform several different kinds of minimally invasive weight-loss solutions. If you’re a good candidate for bariatric surgery, you and the surgeon can choose which procedure is right for you including:
- Vertical sleeve gastrectomy - the surgeon detaches the top section of the stomach and seals it to create a smaller stomach pouch.
- Gastric bypass – the surgeon makes a few small incisions in the abdomen assisted by a robotic arm and computer platform to surgically reduce the size of the stomach so a patient feels full eating much less.
- Lap band to vertical sleeve gastrectomy conversion - an adjustable stomach band limits the amount of food you can hold. The procedure slows the digestive system and can eliminate feelings of hunger and appetite.
